Despite the inclement weather over the weekend, the Schoemaker Classic GOLF is ON for October 19.

- Locations: Golfers will be playing on one of three premiere courses – The ACE Club (theaceclubonline.com), St. Davids Country Club
(www.stdavidsgc.com), or Waynesborough Country Club (waynesborough-cc.com). Directions can be found using the Golf Courses link or on on the websites for each club. Our event website, www.schoemakerclassic.com will have a listing by course where each company’s golfers will be playing. This information will be posted by 5:00 pm on Friday, October 16th.
- Start Times: Groups playing at The Ace Club should arrive no later than 9:15 am to register – shotgun start at The ACE Club is at 10:00 am. Groups playing at Waynesborough and St, Davids should arrive no later than 9:45am to register – shotgun start at Waynesborough and St. Davids is at 11:00 am.
- Refreshments: A light continental breakfast will be available at each course and lunches will be provided to each golfer. In addition, two refreshments stands with snacks and beverages will be situated throughout each course.
- Format: The format is a Shamble format. Under this format, each golfer will drive and the team will select the best drive. Players then play their own ball, placing the ball within one club length. Each player will finish the hole using his or her own ball. If the tee ball chosen is in the rough, fringe, fescue, bunker or hazard, the one club length may not change the playing condition. One low ball gross and one net counts for your team score. If you are a threesome, a team member may hit an additional tee shot on each hole, but you must alternate. A blind draw will be selected as your fourth player. Each golfer’s drive must be used twice during the round. MAXIMUM SCORE IS NET DOUBLE BOGEY. IF A GOLFER IS OUT OF THE HOLE, PLEASE PICK UP YOUR BALL IN ORDER TO KEEP THE PACE OF PLAY MOVING.
- Scoring: Golfers are playing to 50% of handicap as indicated on their scorecard. Teams should record their low gross score and low net score for each hole. Please submit your scorecards to the golf pros as soon as you complete your round so that results can be tabulated.
- Mulligans: There are no mulligans
- BET-A-BIRDIE CONTEST
On the shortest par 3 hole on each course we have a fun contest where you can walk away with cash right on the spot. There are three pins on this green and you can play to any one of them. You can bet anywhere from $20-$100 and if you birdie the hole on your own ball, you double your money on the spot. Format on this hole is NOT the same “shamble” and you simply play your own ball. Low individual gross & net scores on this hole become your team’s score.
- Prizes: Prizes will awarded to golfers on each of the two courses:
- 1st/2nd/3rd Place Low Gross Score ($500, 400, 300 per team)
- 1st/2nd/3rd Place Low Net Score ($500, 400, 300 per team)
- Long Drive – Female ($125)
- Long Drive – Male ($125)
- Closest to the Pin ($125)
- All prizes will be awarded at the dinner to be held at Waynesborough following the outing. Prizes will be given as gift certificates to the golf shop at Waynesborough. The pro shop will stay open until 8:30 pm on the evening of the event.
- Hole in One Opportunities
- WEATHER: If we are facing inclement weather, we will endeavor to play. We intend to make a go/no go decision by 7:00 am on the morning of October 19th. If we are not going to play, we will post our decision on the website and will email each golfer for whom we have an email address. Please remember that the auction and dinner will proceed even if the golf is rained out.
